F I N A L T O T A L
$35,051

WAVM would like to issue a huge amount of thanks to all of those who helped, contributed, volunteered, and donated. WAVM cannot express the amount of gratitude is wishes to give to the parents and volunteers. The telethon would not have been possible without you. The WAVM staff is thrilled that more than 35 thousand dollars will be donated to the Beacon Santa to help the needy families in the areas receiving the Beacon Newspaper. The weekend was a blast.

Every year WAVM holds a 40 hour telethon dedicated to raising money for those less fortunate in the areas of Massachusetts receiving the Beacon newspaper.  WAVM is an entirely student run radio and TV station located in our very own Maynard High School.  The Beacon Villager Newspaper has sponsored the anticipated event from the start, and continues to support us and this wonderful cause .

Last year, WAVM raised over $40,000 to help the needy.  Each year we strive not only to top last year's total, but put on an even better show than before.  Our wide variety of entertainment ranges from auctions, to live bands, to game shows, to cooking.  WAVM's viewers stretch farther every year.  Last year with the occupation of our neighboring local access channels, and the help of on-line broadcasting, we were able to reach as far as over seas to places like London and Australia.

This year we will be broadcasting live on local access channels 8, 9, and 10.  Tune in this December 8th, 9th, and 10th for a weekend of working toward the greater good in what will be our most important, and exciting year yet.
